As a parent or legal guardian of the Minor applicant member of Telemark Biathlon Club ("Minor") I agree to ensure that they are also a member in good standing of United States Biathlon Association and that Telemark Biathlon Club operates as a member of the United States Biathlon Association. I ensure that the Minor is Basic Rifle Safety certified through US Biathlon. I also ensure that they will follow all best practices as established by US Biathlon for use of the range, including doing so only in the presence of a Range Safety Officer. I assume the risk of injury to the Minor, other person or property resulting from any of the dangers and risks of recreational, educational, and other activities occurring during Club activities including, skiing, rollerskiing, running, strength training, biathlon shooting and bicycling, known and unknown, and I RELEASE and DISCHARGE the Club, its Directors and its volunteers for any injury resulting from any of the dangers and risks of such recreational activities, including changing weather conditions, snow conditions, bare spots, rocks, stumps, trees, collisions with natural or manmade objects, or the activities of other persons, variations in terrain.
I further understand that by signing this agreement I acknowledge that Nordic, biathlon, running, mountain bicycling and related activities are HAZARDOUS. I understand and accept that falls and collisions do occur and injuries may result; therefore, I assume the burden, and individual responsibility for the Minor.
Furthermore, I accept all risk of injury, including but not limited to injury or death caused in whole or in part by the negligence or carelessness of the Club, volunteers acting on behalf of the club, or its Officers, and/or Directors in the operation and management of the Club and in maintenance of the groomed and ungroomed surfaces, paved trails, training facilities or bicycling trails and all other areas where Club activities occur. parent or legal guardian of the Minor, I agree and accept the responsibility of inspecting the facilities, equipment, trails, and equipment and I understand that if I find anything is unsafe, I will immediately advise the Club, a Director, or Coach of such condition and I shall refrain from participating until satisfied such condition is corrected.
I understand that the Telemark Biathlon Club is a voluntary organization run by volunteer Officers and Directors who may have no special training or education in the creation, maintenance, and operation of a biathlon or training venue. I also understand that at no time shall I allow non-Club members to use any of the equipment or participate in Club training and events without the completion of their own registration and waiver.
