Hello, I would be interested in joining as a founding member. I’ve been skiing for years and coach a high school team near Minneapolis. I have a cabin one hour away from Telemark Village. I also have time to volunteer.

    Hey all,
Justin from Kenai biathlon here. A few questions about the range.
1, What style of targets are y’all thinking? Devin’s pull rope or something electronic?
    2. Are you guys going to have wind flags and t-posts or just targets?
    3. Will there be a penalty loop?

Hi Justin. It’s my understanding that Birkie is putting in Kurvinen targets, and I believe electronic. We will eventually have flags for things like events, probably not for open range practice is my guess. To be determined! The loops will be integrated into the paved trailhead system and there will be a penalty loop.

    Hello.

From Saint Paul, we’ve a place at Valhalla Townhouses. We’ve three growing boys under 10. We are skiers and mountain bikers and interested in getting involved in the biathlon program/range.

At what age do most kids start biathlon?

    Thank you.

Hi! Typically around age 12-14, many get into it later than that after some cross county background. But there can be skills that are built before that age too, with things like laser or air rifles, skiing into a range to practice shooting with an elevated HR, etc… We’ll keep you up to date with our plans! Thanks for reaching out!
